About the Role
Chaffin Works is looking for an experienced Landscaping Maintenance Manager to help manage and grow our landscaping maintenance and aftercare operations.
This is a hands-on role working across both office and site. You will be responsible for planning maintenance visits, managing site teams, checking quality, communicating with clients and making sure works are delivered safely, professionally and to a high standard.
During the main growing season, the role will focus on maintenance, watering, aftercare, plant health and client reporting. During the quieter maintenance period, you will support the wider landscaping division with soft landscaping packages, remedial works, replacement planting, small works and general project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include:
- Planning and managing annual maintenance programmes.
- Building site-by-site schedules for maintenance visits.
- Organising labour, plant, materials, tools and vehicles.
- Visiting sites to check quality, progress and standards.
- Managing watering, establishment and aftercare requirements.
- Supporting and briefing site teams before works begin.
- Ensuring visit reports, photos and records are completed. And send to clients
- Managing defects, remedial works and replacement planting.
- Communicating with clients and attending meetings when required.
- Identifying extra works and helping protect commercial recovery.
- Supporting landscaping projects during the off-season.
- Front line HR
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and confident managing multiple sites.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance or soft landscaping.
- Good plant knowledge and understanding of maintenance standards.
- Experience managing teams or subcontractors.
- Strong planning and organisation skills.
- Good communication skills with clients and site teams.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Ability to identify problems early and follow them through.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office / Excel.
SMSTS, First Aid, towing or plant tickets would be beneficial but are not essential.
