Tree Surgeon / Climber

Chaffin Works is a leading arboriculture contractor based in Fareham. We deliver professional arboricultural and tree surgery services across utilities, highways, commercial, and public sector environments, working with local authorities, housing associations, schools, and private clients.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Tree Surgeons and Climbers to join our teams, supporting both general arboricultural works and utility-based operations.

Essential requirements:

• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
• Full UK driving licence
• Have team leader experience
• Demonstrable experience in arboriculture, ideally with climbing and utility-based work
• Have SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme)
• CS30/31 (chainsaw maintenance, cross-cutting, and felling)
• Utilities experience working near overhead or underground assets
• UA1 (Basic Electrical Knowledge and Awareness)
• UA2 qualifications relevant to the role

The following would be advantageous:

• CS38/39 or equivalent
• Commercial crown reduction and local authority experience
• MEWP accreditation
• Emergency First Aid at Work plus Forestry
• Chapter 8 signing, lighting, and guarding

Licences and tickets:

• Driving licence required
• Chainsaw tickets preferred
• CSCS card preferred
